Data Repositories
Data repositories exist to facilitate the sharing and archiving of datasets. Thus, they can be an important source of previously-generated datasets for analysis, as well as a means of preserving your data and complying with funder requirements to make your datasets publicly available.
A few things to consider when selecting a data repository:
- Some repositories are subject specific and may be commonly used in a discipline; others are more general.
- Some allow uploads; others are primarily for downloading.
- Some may have limits on longevity of data storage.
- Some are free to use while others require payment to offset costs of long-term storage.
ScholarsArchive
ScholarsArchive is Brigham Young University’s institutional repository for the scholarly and creative content produced by the University. This repository makes research, publications, data, and journals produced by BYU faculty and students available to a global research audience, and does not assess deposit fees.
